When you have a small business, it can be a great asset to be online. Your website can do a lot of good things for your little business. But you need to make sure you are using it to your best advantage. You don’t just want to set up a website and then do nothing with it again.
Websites need updates, which is why having a blog is a great concept. If you don’t have a website, it’s time to get one. And, even if you do, make sure you have all of the following things on it so it’s doing the job you want it to.
1. A Contact Page
Make sure that you have a contact page. This page should include your email contact, business phone number, and even the address if you have a brick and mortar building that people can shop at. You might even want to include your business days and hours on this page, to make things easier for your website visitors.
It pays to include both an actual email address for direct contact, as well as a contact box where those that don’t want to have to email direct through their email can still contact your company for information.
2. An About Page
Every business website needs a page that tells visitors what they are all about. What is your business, how did it get started, and what makes your business the best choice in your field? Use this page to tell people all of these things and they are sure to look further into what you have to offer.
3. A Blog
Your business blog is a great marketing tool and could be the one thing that manages to convert people that stumble upon your page into actual clients. Blogging allows you an outlet in which to give readers want they want, and convince them that what they really want is to buy from you, or hire your company.
One important way to convert your readers into buyers is to make sure that you finish every blog post with a call to action. Let them know the next step to make what you told them about in your blog post a reality.
4. Links To Social Media
Your social media sites aren’t just going to be a place you share business links on, and links to your latest blog post. You want to make sure that you have links to your social media on your website as well. This way people that enjoy your site, or your blog, can follow you on social media, and get the latest news and info on deals.
5. Great Photos
Images are worth a thousand words, and there are many aspects of your website that require good photos. This not only includes using photos on infographics, but also having photos in your blog posts and on each page of your website. Photos give people an added visual that they may not get simply from your words.
