Buzz Lightyear Leadership

I watched the movie series Toy Story with my kids recently and have become a big fan of one of the characters, Buzz Lightyear. Buzz is futuristic space toy come to life within the lead characters room. (A human)

He has cool features like active laser beams, karate chopping arms, pop-out wings and a rocket pack. But I think the best thing about Buzz is his attitude and passion for his mission.

He firmly believes that he IS the defender of the galaxies and all mankind, and you absolutely cannot sway him from this belief and time after time he takes actions that exhibit this belief.

Buzz got me to thinking about how well I and other business leaders exhibit our passions and beliefs in our mission. In fact sometimes many of us are not aligning our true passions with our work.

The 64-million dollar question then is what impact does that have on the success of our business?

There are literally thousands of small business websites in addition to this one all designed in one way or another to help others be successful. The one thing we cannot do is dispense passion for a mission.

What is your mission passion-o-meter reading right now? What are you doing to crank it up?

The passion for the mission has to come from with in yourself. The great infor on your site here helps a great deal. Keep up the great job you do. I also enjoyed the Toy Story.
