Many small CEOs lose out on lots of business when "marketing" with their website. Most local small business websites are "brochure sites" that do little to draw customers to the business.

Any Internet marketing strategy for a local small business that intends to draw customers from the local area should include local search. But most web designers are not marketers - their designers!

Anita is touching on a huge subject here. Listen to her sage advice - and get an Internet marketer to set up your website strategy and tactics - not just the designer!

I agree with Anita. I rarely pick up a phone book anymore. My first instinct is to run to the computer and look up a business phone number.

She also includes a good list of local search links in her article.
